Intentions, exercises and goals

As a graduate student, I spend most of my time reading articles, journals, and blog posts. The huge amounts of information often makes me lose track of what I have set out to learn. I definitely need more structure in the way I process this information. Sitting down to write helps me collect my thoughts and perspectives about the new information and organize my learnings. Blogging, I believe, will be the perfect exercise to develop this habit.

As I sit down in an attempt to write my first blog post, I realized that a lot more work will be needed to improve my writing. Working on this post has been a learning experience and I’ve really enjoyed the process so far. I hope to consistently write more posts to keep me in check with my reading and writing exercises. I know that there is room for improvement, but I also need to constantly remind myself to not be overly critical about the writing and just make steady progress. To more such posts!

p.s. In the past, there have been many times when I have wanted to write posts about my thoughts about various things. However, I could never pick up the courage to actually write a full-fledged post. I hope that this exercise of blogging will make me confident to share my thoughts about a wide variety of topics as well.
